JACKSONVILLE, Texas (February 22, 2022) – the Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO) and the City of Jacksonville (City) are pleased to announce the purchase of the Cherokee Ranch Golf Club in partnership with Cherokee Ranch Golf Inc. (CRG). CRG has leased and operated the course since 2016, but with a lease expiring in early 2022 and the property owner’s desire to sell, the partnered-purchase “saved the course”. The February 22 closing marked the end of a successful transaction, the beginning of a new long-term lease, and the return of local control.

The SecureAmerica Institute (SAI) and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) have partnered with Project MFG, the Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO), and Adams Engineers and Equipment (AEE) to host a regional competition for skilled trade students to address gaps in manufacturing skills.

JEDCO’s collaboration with SAI and TEES to bring the skills competition to Jacksonville began in late spring 2021. Jacksonville’s manufacturing heritage and location made it an ideal place to showcase the region’s manufacturing talent.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas (September 16, 2020) – On Tuesday, September 15, the Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO) kicked-off the first of many planned workforce development initiatives in a new training room located at the Corporation’s downtown office. A renovation completed in early 2020, transformed more than 1,300 square-feet of unfinished space into a modern and flexible training room. JEDCO plans to use the space to facilitate an array of training efforts aimed at meeting current and projected workforce needs.
